Recommended to bring similar shoes particularly same size heel height shoes, the bride is planning on wearing with the dress.
Also encourage bringing nude color undergarments and strapless bra so you can get an accurate idea of what the dress would look like when those garments are worn.

Each manufacturer has a unique manufacturing schedule. This schedule varies throughout the year for each item based upon seasonal demand.
The clock begins ticking once we order the items from the manufacturer. This normally occurs within 24 hours. The exception to this is when a bride has registered her wedding and we will be ordering bridesmaids, maid of honor, and/or matron of honor gowns for her wedding. The order will be placed with the manufacturer once the final gown from registered bridal event has been purchased, this procedure must be followed to protect against dye lot variations.
Dye lot is the shade of color. Fabric is dyed to a specific color. This color is a mix of ingredients that is applied to the fabric to obtain that color. Each time the color is mixed a slightly different shade may result. This is not intended, but just the way it is since it is a semi-manual process.
This knowledge is most important when ordering bridesmaids, maid of honor, and/or matron of honor gowns since you normally have more than one bridesmaids, maid of honor, and/or matron of honor in a wedding and they usually stand next to each other at the front of the church. A slight dye-lot variable between the gowns may be noticeable if they were not made from the same bolt of fabric. Most brides would not be happy with ANY variation, so it is recommended that a group of bridesmaids, maid of honor, and/or matron of honor gowns are ordered from the manufacturer at the exact same time. This insures they will be manufactured from the same bolt of fabric and thus avoid a variation.
Most of the gowns offered are sized smaller than normal street apparel. Meaning with most of these manufacturers you will need a size larger than you normally wear in everyday street apparel.
Once the order is placed with a manufacturer it CANNOT be changed!
Most full length dresses offer extra length. Most factories suggest that you should consider ordering extra length if you are 5'8" or taller with shoes on. Other factors are heel of shoe, hem height off floor, etc.
Extra length is usually an additional 5" of fabric added to the dress. You will need to hem the dress to length desired in almost every case. Remember - if you are not sure, it's better to have too much length and be able to shorten than to have a dress that's too short and can't be let out. Extra length charges will vary by designer.
Most manufacturers charge an additional fee for dresses size 18 and up, often referred to as Plus Sizes. Plus size charges will vary by manufacturer are automatically calculated when the size is selected for an item.
When ordering separates all 3 measurements (bust, waist, and hips) must still be performed to determine the proper size.
Gowns are manufactured to the measurements within the manufacturers size chart. The standard measurements of gowns do not properly fit most women. As a result the majority of gowns must be custom fitted to your body to receive the ideal fit.
Please be aware that sizing is not an exact science and custom fitting by an experienced seamstress will almost always be necessary for a proper fit.
Char Bridals does not offer In-Store Fittings. We can refer to a reputable seamstress, no affiliation to Char Bridals. Contract for alterations will be between the customer and seamstress.
